MAORI SET TO SEIZE THE DAY
What many punters don't realise is that when the Maori party does a deal with the National Party we will see 11 Maori MP's who can work together for the greater good of Maoridom. And they represent a very broad church that reflects Maoridom today. There are tribalists, educationalists, lawyers,business people, representatives of most tribes and most geographical areas. We have urban and rural, old and young. We think it would be very useful for Georgina te Heu Heu( who looked fantastic last night) and Tariana Turia to develop a pan party Maori caucus that meets fairly regularly to promote and support issues that benefit their people.

Oh great,16% of the population will now control everyone else. You have a very short memory if you don't recall why so many Kiwi's left this country several years back. Before Klark sent the second wave.
I read that the number was 18 but stand corrected if not.
I also read today that only 55% of those on the Maori roll voted and given that that is about 50% of those eligible to be on that role then we are talking only 55% of 50% so not that many voters. Protected by the Maori seats. Hardly proportional!

I’ll go further. I’ll say this: the Maori Party will not go into a coalition government with National. If I’m proved wrong after the election, I’ll print out this blog and eat it, live on webcam.
