It appears that Duncan Garner will be fronting TV3's the Nation for the next 4 weeks. This is a great chance for TV3 to turn the programme on its ear. They need to let Garner have his head and give us the racy Fox style news show we all thought it would be.
We will be watching it with considerable interest.

The NATION - LAST SHOW?
We understand that Duncan Garner may be considering saying "see ya later" to the cast and crew of The Nation. Stephen Parker has already left but Garner also realises the programme has limited appeal.
There is even some talk it may not screen this weekend.
Sad really , it was pretty turgid but it should have provided an alternative to the snappy but once over lightly Q and A.

MEDIA NEWS

Stephen Parker is leaving the very boring but worthy TV3 current affairs programme the Nation.
Great. He is waaay to intense. The show needs lightening up and Duncan Garner is the one to do it.
The baby faced boy has finally hit his straps. Now he is no intellectual giant and he doesn't have the wit or wisdom of Sean Plunket but he is bruising interviewer and gets to the nub of an issue pretty quickly and like Plunket he is happy to take a wack at all politicians no matter what their hue.
The Nation needed some fizz. Garner is just the bugger to give it shake up.

DUNCAN GARNER YOU NEED A KICKING
We have already blogged on the fact that Whale Oil broke the Winston Peters missing car story and this morning he continued with a bloody good follow up. Now Tv3 gives the story an airing and bugger me - no blood mention of Whales sleuthing - Not good enough Tv3.

BOOKLET A GREY POWER BRIBE FROM LABOUR

Hooton has been running hot with this all day and Duncan Garner on TV3 has picked up the story and led with it at 6.pm
It is lamb dressed up as mutton - not supposed to look too appetising and it takes legal electioneering to the edge of the law - but morally it stinks worse that a cracked kina in the noon day sun.
Well done Matthew for shedding light on a nasty piece of cynical politics.
And we will be putting the spotlight on some more Labour nanny state policy crap later this evening.
