GARNER TO HEADLINE THE NATION

It appears that Duncan Garner will be fronting TV3's the Nation for the next 4 weeks. This is a great chance for TV3 to turn the programme on its ear. They need to let Garner have his head and give us the racy Fox style news show we all thought it would be.

We will be watching it with considerable interest.

Stephen Parker is leaving the very boring but worthy TV3 current affairs programme the Nation.

Great. He is waaay to intense. The show needs lightening up and Duncan Garner is the one to do it.

The baby faced boy has finally hit his straps. Now he is no intellectual giant and he doesn't have the wit or wisdom of Sean Plunket but he is bruising interviewer and gets to the nub of an issue pretty quickly and like Plunket he is happy to take a wack at all politicians no matter what their hue.

The Nation needed some fizz. Garner is just the bugger to give it shake up.

VROOM VROOM

Many in the Terrace public servant community have been all a twitter in the last week or so - It seems that Mrs Barry Soper, the lovely Heather du Plessis Allan has been driving a very nice big and very new silver BMW everywhere. So people were asking  - had Barry or his effervescent missus won Lotto. Had Barry bought his missus the car? 

We put that question to Barry today and he  informed  Roarprawn that  he's a Jag man thru and thru  (he has a spanky new S type one)  and the Beemer is a loan car.

Apparently Mrs Soper has her oldish VW Golf on Trademe. And by Mr Sopers reckoning it might fetch as much as a set of tires on the Jag. 

The rumours were much more interesting than the facts.

For the record  - we here at  Roaprawn  - like Mercedes and Volvos. 

NBR UPDATE

One of our mates at NBR has updated us on the staffing issues. Apparently the next edition will see some interesitng new faces and some old ones disappear.

Two print columnists and two occasional columnists have gone.

We look foreward to see who are new this Friday.
