Well apparently, according to the Herald, another chapter of the Don Brash stolen emails will be played out next week. It seems the police, who said the file was closed, then opened it and the ombudsman who says bits cant be released because, well sorry we dont know that because she has deemed that's secret too, are going to show us some of the police file.

We are pretty convinced that all the public will get to see will be lots of blank paper , some radio transcripts and a few press clippings when the police make public some scraps of the file next week.

We are still gobsmacked by this story. So here is a tune for all the spooks, police, watchers and politicians who maybe involved. It stinks guys and the longer you buried the more it will stink.
Now there are many eyes on you. We will watch and we will wait....

SCOOP -YOUNG LABOUR DEMAND A MEETING WITH GOFF -

Labour 's caucus is bleeding - cut to the quick by Goffs approval of Tizard . Now we understand a posse of their youngest and brightest, Chauval, Hughes, Ardern et al have demanded a meeting with Goff to put an end to what they see as the old guard protecting their own. They want a new fresh face to stand in Mt Albert - they do not want to see Tizard back again. Reminds us of the delegation that Cullen once led to have a wee chat about party matters to Helen Clark way back in the dim dark ages.

DISHONEST POLITICS

It appears that the true deviousness and dishonesty of Labour politics has never been clearer than their decision to cover up the ACC blowout. As always Rob Hosking of NBR says it best.

Hint: It’s the same defeated Labour Cabinet Minister who, as part of his electorate office’s work in assisting people to enrol to vote, is said to have destroyed voter enrolment forms from people suspected of being likely to vote National, and only forwarded the enrolment forms to the Electoral Commission if he thought the potential voter was a Labourite.

Another hint: It’s the same defeated Labour Cabinet Minister who used his taxpayer-paid staff to write creepy congratulations letters to every kid in his electorate who won a prize at their school prizegivings. And we’re not just talking secondary-school kids. Come third in chess at your local primary school in his electorate and you could expect to get a personally signed letter from your local MP – with handwritten “PSs” to the parents. Yuk.

CORRUPTION COMES WITH MANY FACES

The Greens are moving quickly to distance themselves from the Taper ( whom we are convinced has illegally taped conversations). they called for a clean up of parliament and hate spying and have called for an inquiry into corruption - we could not agree more and this incident should be part of it. Kees Keizer has a tape we believe will have on it recordings of conversations between other people who did not realise they were being taped, and as every journalist knows - thats illegal. You can tape a conversation between two people as long as one person is aware of being taped. You cannot tape conversations of two or more people without their knowledge.

Then there is the Crimes Act, Part 9A, Crimes against Personal Privacy.

Kees Keizer should be really very worried about these provisions of the Crimes Act. Section 216B allows Kees to record the conversation as he was a party to it. Where he runs into problems though is Section 216C.

Finally the bugger who taped conversations at the Nats conference has been outed. Well done Farrar and WhaleOil and the Herald.
More investigation is needed into this venal jerks background. Sadly, we note he was brought up in Invercargill. We know that it is legal to tape a conversation as long as one party knows its happening - what is illegal is if you tape the conversation between two other people without them knowing. We reckon thats why Keizer wont release the tape - it will have evidence that he taped conversations between National Party people without them knowing.
And thats a serious offence.

You know that Labour is getting desperate when its spotty boys try to peddle yet another " secret tape" from the National Party conference.
I have been in the Wairarapa all day. 4 journalists rang within 20 minutes with news of the tape.
They all said pretty much the same thing - the tape was " tame" and it showed just how desperate Labour is getting.
Hey spotty boys - leak some more - keep annoying the journalists...

A few people have asked me why would someone do this ?

I have no bloody idea really.

I suspect its little boys, or maybe (little girls who dont like boys) who maybe good at tactics and not at strategy -and probably have no morals....


I cant think why they would do what they have done to this particular MP. He is a good bastard as I said when I posted on this issue... I also said at the time I was suspicious of the original allegation but I wasn't of the allegation of police interference and that probably has a lot to do with the distrust , I am sad to say, of what I see as a politicised police force.

I am just glad the story was being followed up by journalists with integrity - I know that as a former journalist I would have followed through with it as well. I have had my share of false leads in the past ...

I just hope that someone takes the people who did this and gives them a bloody good whupping.
