ROARPRAWN DROWNED OUT BY CALLS FOR HOKI/SCAMPI INQUIRY

Wellington Hive and Kiwi blog are both calling for An Anti - Corruption Commission to be set up with one of the first tasks being to investigate Scampi and Hoki and Meurant and all the rest of the corrupt bribing buggers involved.

We could not agree more and we hope that Rodney Hide stays staunch on this issue.

OUR HUMBLE APOLOGIES BILL

Ok we fess up - the red wine fairy hovered above us last night as a result of a big win on the Melbourne cup. We had another look at what Bill English said about Obama and well quite frankly its not all that bad. So we kneel at the feet of the Dipton dynamo and ask for forgiveness for calling him a dork. Beers on me Bill.

Wellington Hive does a good job of joining the dots this morning in light of the Peter Dunne expose.
We agree, more questions need to be asked about Winstons visit to the FAO on his way to watching boxing in Las Vegas - a trip we reckon he didn't pay for.

Peters now is a PROVEN liar. With pictures. We cannot believe a thing he says or has said in the past. Not that WE ever did but too often he has been given the benefit of the doubt by the media and the general public and we wonder how long his own MP's will stand by him now.

And Helen continues to back a bone fide liar. - Well thats going to be a government you can trust - not.

COUNTRY SEES THE DANGER IN MMP

It was way past BB's bedtime when the results of the MMP poll were announced on TVNZ and it was staggering - 75% want to see the end of MMP.

We did blog on our thoughts of the minors debate last night and we reckon that the Hydra is a cluster fuck in the making . We cannot afford in these troubled times to have the mini- minors being drip fed "nice to have" but ultimately not life changing policies in exchange for power - Firstly there is no money and secondly there isn't time to waste on crap. We need a stable govt to steer us through what will be the hardest economic times since the depression.

Wellington Hive has a wonderful contribution that says pretty much the same, but much more elegantly.

WINSTONS LEGAL HENCHMEN CONTROL SUSAN COUCHS MONEY

Well we knew it, we all ( Wellington Hive, Kiwiblog, Whaleoil,Hooton,) all blogged on various dodgy aspects of the Trust over the last few days and the Dominion Post takes another look at the Trust this morning here .

We agree wholeheartedly with the Dom - Margaret Wilson has a obligation to the public of New Zealand to reveal who benefited from the Taxpayers money.

The creep Peters cannot be allowed to get away with hiding behind the skirt tails of a desperate Labour.

Remember it is not Winstons money it is the taxpayers and we have every right to know where that money went and the Government has a moral obligation to reveal the details.

And the journalists in this country should follow the lead of Kitchin and keep digging.

WINSTON A COWARDLY PISSED CREEP

First Winston is a no show on the most important intellectual debate of the election on foreign affairs on Radio NZ - then the creepy fucker turns up on Radio Live after trying to find the bottom of the whisky bottle.

And like queen bee at Wellington Hive we noted him sweating and wiping his brow on TVNZ the other night - as my mate SPAZ would say - the piss has got him...

This is the important bit.

Well in one instance we have been able to view the original reply received by Rodney Hide to some questions that were answeredin mid September. So we can answer question 8311. According to the document history the itinerary was drafted by Justin Allen on 17 September. This, in itself, is interesting given this post on the blog Roar Prawn. But it is interesting that a new itinerary was created as opposed to the original itinerary from the Ministerial visit programme being used. This will have to be investigated in due course.

STILL LOTS OF LOLLIES BEING HANDED OUT BY LABOUR

Queen Bee at the Hive points to some suspicious spending by Labour leading up to the election - someone needs to put a counter on the spending - we reckon its got to be adding up to a tidy sum.

We want some more answers over the lightbulb scandal and we think that the pledgegate book bribe for oldies should be withdrawn.

We want to know if the public is happy for up to$10 milllion on a public lightbulb re-education programme - or if they would want the money spent on a few more courses of Herceptin.?

We think it is a no brainer - saving the lives of women or a social engineering programme to get you to change a lightbulb.

Hooton is on Tv3 Sunrise talking about Pledgegate - and arch lefty Matt McCarten agrees with Hooton -pledgegate is a disgrace. The left will note this - expect the booklet to be withdrawn by the end of today.

And Maurice comes in for some stick - goood - he needs more stick.

QUEEN BEE AND HOOTON RECKON THE GREENS HAVE A DIVINING ROD FOR LABOUR POLICY

The greens are going with labour - how surprising - they will save the planet together -

With Labour and the Greens convinced that NZ should make big sacrifices to save the planet and the fact that those changes will be like the popping the pimple on the bum of an elephant , that will be really useful. And economic management that has left us with eye popping deficits that leave us prone to the perfect storm in the international money markets.

Voodoo economics QB calls it Hooton thinks they are channelling something -
While the prawns think it is Snake oil ( sustainable of course) politics.

Or you can vote National and ensure prudent economic management going into what looks like the roughest time in our economic history for decades- and no more spending on public sector fluff as a sweetener.

KEY CALLS FOR CLARK TO WORK WITH NATS ON PACKAGE TO COUNTER BANKING CRISIS

John Key has called on Clark to work with National to work thorough a " politically durable solution" to the banking crisis.

He believes that we need a decision sooner than later and that more changes are needed to the deposit guarantee scheme.

We are glad that he is acting. He needed to - the banks are becoming increasingly jittery by the day and we are too small a nation to withstand big economic shocks.

Clark must respond and sit down with Key and work through a bi partisan solution - this is the time to put aside power and do what is right for the nation.

We , Wellington Hive, Bernard Hickey, Fran O'Sullivan and just about every economist worth their salt have been waiting for this sort of response and warning of the consequences if something wasn't done.We only hope it wont be too late.

HERALD HAS THE FINANCIAL STORY OF THE WEEK

We missed it today - we normally get the Herald in hard copy but it was sold out in the dairy so we did not see Fran Sullivan's sobering article..

The dark clouds of financial upheaval are on the horizon but it looks like our politicians are looking the other way. Our banks are not as safe as we have been led to believe.

It is hard to believe that Cullen and Clark would leave the country teetering on the brink of financial collapse just so they can go in a couple of days before the election and save the day but that's what Fran is implying.

Bollard has the ability to step up and tell the country what needs to be done rather that Clark and Cullen telling him what they want done.

We have been watching the deposit guarantee scandal with a great deal of interest. Bollard has been compromised there is not doubt about that now. He let himself become a puppet of Clark for her political ends and now his name is linked to a scheme that financial pundits are saying will skew the financial markets and may well help prop up the wide boys in the finance sector.

Not good enough -the Guvnor of the Reserve Bank cannot be a puppet. Time to go old boy.

LABOURS DEPOSIT GUARANTEE SCHEME IS A CROCK

Queen Bee at Wellington Hive does some further analysis this morning and it doesnt look good.

It was as Roarprawn expected - a very badly drafted piece of legislation.

Investment guru Chris Lee said on RNZ this morning, that it will be lapped up by the finance companies and skew the market.

We also note that this issue was of so much concern to QB that she got out of bed at sparrow fart to post on the changing face of the Global Credit crisis.

Queen Bee rightly points out that this a pivotal day with calls for deposit insurance and information on how to overcome depression if things get tough in our Sunday papers.
Both leaders are launching their campaigns today. What they say and do will be important to our nation.
Meanwhile Bustedblonde and the Aussie Rock have a practical response to the impending financial crapfest.
We have planted a vege garden , and done a deal with a local farmer for ongoing meat in return for grazing. We have the river at our backs and the wind in our face and we will weather whatever comes at us..

And by the way - Like QB I notice that some of the comments on some posts are getting nasty.
I write my stuff on this blog for me and anyone who wants to read it. If you dont like it write your own.
I dont moderate because I believe in free speech .
And I dont come from the school of elegance and niceness like QueenBee - my approach to matters is much more akin to Hootons..

In short you dont scare me but with 20 years of filed info as a journo and a few other interesting occupations over the years, I may well be able to scare you.
