FAUX MANA

The apparent troughing by some brown fellas in the name of Maori development has the whanui choking on their kumara.

Phil Kitchin from the Dominion Post
has been lifting the potae on the rather overblown ambition and under delivery of the Tekau Plus programme that is aimed at positioning ten Maori businesses to become ten big exporters in ten years. It was big and bodacious - a good vision - but not a bloody goal.
It was overseen by a Government department - never a good start for any business.

$2m of $3m has been spent and so far all that has happened is that there have been no positive outcomes and a handful of big brown swinging dicks have done very well thank you. They have the odd hui here and there, travelled quite a bit , talked shit and written even more shit.

At the centre of the story is a outfit called Fomana Capital It is now known round the traps as Faux Mana.... how funny is that!

We are delighted that there will be an inquiry.
However it would behove those who are conducting the inquiry to ensure that there is a ceiling on the fees of those who are investigating the scheme.

We continually see the same bumpf repeated over and over again by these sorts of organisations. Full of a strange language that real businessmen dont use - like this claptrap

ACCORD

The FOMANA Capital Accord is neither a legal commitment nor a prescriptive framework. It is equally about innovation, co-networking, market positioning for the future and working collaboratively.

The bond between FOMANA and reputable organisations is people. People that foster strategic relationships and that are aware of the big picture game-plan.

POLICY FRAMEWORK

Foremost the policy is premised on a strategic relationship. This requires FOMANA Capital and the Accord parties to agree to building relationships based on understanding, accepting and acknowledging each others’ values, principles and strategic intent. The aim is to have congruence or alignment of values/principles and strategic intent.

The Accord relationship can be visualised similar to an iceberg. That is the base and foundations (Values, Principles & Strategic Intent) may not be seen or overtly known. However the base/foundations are what provide the strategic scale and bulk.

POLICY FRAMEWORK

There are four levels associated with the policy of entering an Accord.

Level 1: Is the foundation, an alignment and/or agreement on the principles and values.

Level 2: Is the structural alignment, an agreement on the strategic intent and big picture.

Level 3: Is the form of an agreed business programme – goals, objectives to be worked towards, which illustrate a pattern, theme of results.

Level 4: Is the individual project or events, where the system of agreed programmes (patterns/themes), which is part of structural/strategic intent programme, which is based on the Accord foundations, principles and values.

We work and have worked with CE's from listed companies, exporters, consultants and entrepreneurs.

They dont talk like that - They say things like

  • We need to get shit done now
  • We cannot lose our competitive edge.
  • We need to be number one.
  • We need a game plan.
  • Whats on the agenda?
  • What do we need to fix?
  • Wheres the payback?
  • Whats the cost benefit?
  • Whats the NPV net present value ?
  • Fuck thats a bloody good opportunity.
  • We need to win.
  • We need to work on our relationships
  • The customer is king.
  • Hire that woman - shes got great tits
  • No risk - no reward.
  • We need to beat the bastards
  • We need to work out what the market wants
  • get them to sign on the dotted line
  • Dont blow the budget
  • We only hire the best because we want to be the best.
  • There has got to be something in it for our partners.
  • Wheres the profit?
  • Wheres lunch?

ONE CHIEF TO RULE THEM ALL

All eyes in Parliament are on the journalists employed by the three Fairfax mastheads, the DomPost, Sunday Star Times and the Christchurch Press. Fairfax is to chuck them all in one room in the Gallery and appoint a bureau chief from among the current staff- or possibly appoint from outside the organisation.

The days of serious competition between the Dead Tree Press papers will undoubtedly disappear.

The reasonably recently arrived Aussie scribe who took up the political editorship at the Sunday Star Times is apparently seriously miffed at the change in circumstances which means he may lose some status in the musical chairs game that's about to play out.

Apparently there is a book running in the round house on who is the front runner is of the two main contenders - Tracy Watkins of the DomPost and the ginga from Christchurch Colin Espiner. The good money is on Espiner who is a good mate of Paul Thompson, Group Executive Editor, one of the favoured few in the Fairfax managerial stable.

A parliamentary insider reckon the reshuffle wont make bugger all difference to the quality of the column inches produced by Fairfax. Apparently, corridor stops - designed to get quick sound bites to populate ever hungry online new sites are now the staple for parliamentary journalists. No real investigation, no having deep and meaningfuls with Minsters and MP's and bugger all OIA's. They just follow up on the ones the opposition churn out.

Sad Really.

No doubt this will all be a hot topic at the impending nuptials of the old southern media curmudgeon Barry Soper and his youthful bride Heather du Plessis - Allan.

ONLY VINDICTIVE ONE IS CLARK

Clark is turning into a whinging whiny old woman. First she reckons that it was out of pure " vindictiveness that the Nats have pulled back on her " sustainability agenda." We now see pragmatism instead of dogma underpinning NZ's approach to climate change sustainability etc and we are glad of it.

Then in the wholly sycophantic piece by Tracy Watkins,
we see her whinge about the decrease in funding levels for aid mismanaged by the UN. Clark would do well to remember that she is parked up in one of the most expensive pieces of real estate in the world in an organisation that has written the book on bureaucratic corruption. The easiest way to ensure that poor people get what they need is to ensure that the organisation she works for cleans up its very dirty act. And for the record - how many tonnes of carbon has she racked up flying here there and everywhere to see how poor people live. A click of the button on a computer with a decent broadband should show her well enough.
Doesnt she have enough minnions to tell her?

So what is the carbon chomping airfare budget of Ms Clark and what is she doing to reduce the costs of the gold plated corrupt organisation she work for?

She is quoted as saying she had " one big job left in her."

Its a job in a big organisation - not a big job. And not one that will make a wit of difference to poor people around the world.

And by the way - who paid for watkins jaunt to the UN?

CHERISH WAS NOT KILLED BY ST JOHNS

This headline in the Dominion is a crock.

"Cherish dies after St Johns Delay"

So there may have been delays and thats bad. But she was killed by human hand not some systemic fault.

So while St Johns may have some questions to answer, they did not kill her. Her death sentence had already been dished out by the person who bashed her tiny head in.

The Dominion needs a kick in the arse for the way they have portrayed this story.
Crap journalism, crap speculation and it takes the focus away from the perpetrator of this heinous crime.

SECURITY CHECKS

We like Kiwiblog, have noted the Dominion Post Story on a big demand from government departments to do security checks on top level public service applicants in the wake of the Mary- Anne Thompson case.

We think that its a good move but we still wonder what checks the SIS did on Thompson. We like David Farrar had to undergo a security check which took six weeks to complete.
Mine was pretty bloody thorough. Evidently they seemed concerned that I might have been a Maori radical, a notion that was quickly extinguished by my referees.

Surely Thompson had to undergo a top secret clearance considering the type of information she dealt with during her time in and around the Beehive and government departments.

No doubt all these questions and more will be answered at Thompson's trial.

RACING GETS SOME OVERDUE SCRUTINY

We have been wanting to see this for a while - a good analysis of what Winston has done for Racing. And it takes Kiwiblog to do it. Well done.

It puts the Dom Post Winston expose into context.

WINSTONS LEGAL HENCHMEN CONTROL SUSAN COUCHS MONEY

Well we knew it, we all ( Wellington Hive, Kiwiblog, Whaleoil,Hooton,) all blogged on various dodgy aspects of the Trust over the last few days and the Dominion Post takes another look at the Trust this morning here .

We agree wholeheartedly with the Dom - Margaret Wilson has a obligation to the public of New Zealand to reveal who benefited from the Taxpayers money.

The creep Peters cannot be allowed to get away with hiding behind the skirt tails of a desperate Labour.

Remember it is not Winstons money it is the taxpayers and we have every right to know where that money went and the Government has a moral obligation to reveal the details.

And the journalists in this country should follow the lead of Kitchin and keep digging.

Iced Buns - food for thought.

Okay so I'm a tart but that is the best set of buns I have seen in a while ! Thanks dom post for a heartwarming pic ( well it warmed some part of my anatomy) first thing on a Monday.

But hell its gotta be cold - methinks that with the current sea temp being fairly icy his front bits would have been hard to film without a macro lens.

The Furies Unleashed

The Herald finds out that the NZ First bean counter had some concerns a fedw months back

The Dom Post finds out that bullying is alive and well in NZ First and two staffers left. Busted Blonde wonders what they know? Reporter Tim Donoghue is a reporter who knows a good yarn when he sees one...

Maybe the stench of very dead scampi was too much to bear.

And Glenn has arrived according to the Dom

So its going to be a very entertaining week .. busted blonde knows of people who are flying into Wellington just to see the show!

one good man and true

The Dominion Post editorial sums up the moral bankruptcy that political parties are facing with an impending election
"Party leaders might be surprised at the kudos they would attract if they mutually agreed neither party would treat with him after this year's election.
That would be a stand of principle. But "principle" is a foreign word to most MPs, including Mr Peters. Mr Hide is fighting a lonely but dogged battle to make the NZ First leader accountable, and that is a disgrace." go the Dom.

That pretty much sums it up.

The trouble is, as the gap between Labour and National decreases, the more their testicles will seek the solace of their kidneys.

Russell Norman, the verdant terrier has shown that years of vegetarianism has kept his teeth in good nick and he is prepared to chomp on the rump of winston.

But in essence, Rodney is a man alone on the hill with Norman perhaps yapping at his heels .

However there are many many people who have had enough of the creeping corruption that is Winston Peters so we can only hope that Rodney et al in the seafood and racing games give the SFO enough ammunition to launch a decent inquiry, so that this time we are rid of the Spot on our political fabric once and for all.
