ALLEGED DOUBLE DIPPER WINSTONS BAG MAN

So Roger McLay has been charged with using a document for percuniary advantage. Basically he has been charged with double dipping. He can claim some freebies as a result of being an ex MP but the charges relate to him allegedly claiming for the same things twice.

Now Roger, you may remember was a mate of Winstons- he was the go - get man for funds.

We wonder if Winnie will come to the aid of his old aide?

WINSTONS LAST DESPERATE FLIGHT OF FANCY AND ITS NOT IN A CHOPPER.

We here at Roarprawn are lost for words... Winston has just issued this media release

Helicopter Used For Travel During Campaign
Rt Hon Winston Peters says New Zealand First has used
helicopters for travel during two election campaigns – but not for campaigning itself.
Mr Peters said that the way a question was framed on Agenda
yesterday implied that he had used a helicopter to campaign from, which of course was ridiculous because of the physical impossibility of speaking to crowds in a noisy gale.
“We used a helicopter to travel and I do not deny that, but to suggest that I somehow stood at the door of a flying helicopter shouting at voters is preposterous. “We were campaigning – not deerstalking.
“This is just another media sideshow to divert voters from the real issues they face,” said Mr Peters.
He's mad.

HOOTON DOES LSD

Hooton reveals his past here - just as BB has here

If you have a past you want to share that includes something or someone dodgy

please email bustedblonde@gmail.com

And we will share it with the world - it may not make you feel better but it will make the righteous numpties on the left feel a little bit more sanctimonious.

And the more sanctimonious they get the more they piss off normal NZ'ers.

WE LIKE BEN THOMAS

He is a journo to watch - he is always considered, he writes very well and he breaks the odd story or two. It wont be long before he is head hunted from the NBR. And despite the fact he has a lot of face to wash, one of the younger prawns reckons he is cute.

Here is his latest column

Its an insightful piece on the fallout impact of Consulgate for Helen Clark.

TIMING IS EVERYTHING

Whale oil and Kiwiblog have been cooking up this billboard for a while. It went up in Tauranga today - and with Winston back in the headlines for being a lying corrupt creep - the timing could not have been better.

Go you good things!

MEDIA SMELL BLOOD - WINSTON AFFAIRS DOMINATES TODAYS MEDIA

Finally the media have got their teeth into this issue. And it doesn't look like they are going to let go. Apart from that weasel Brent Edwards.

Excellent - Its about time they treated this seriously - its corruption at its worst.
and Clark is up to her eyeballs in this as well.

She has always tried to keep the foul stench of Winstons corruption at arms length but the release of these documents by the Ombudsman means she has just been doused in a shower of shit that she is not going to be able to wash off easily.

She knew what Winston was up to and she should have sacked him on the spot but she let him keep his job so she could continue to be PM.

That is just as corrupt and venal as Winston.

BRENT EDWARDS IS A LEFTY TWAT - AND A CRAP JOURNALIST

Lordy , we listened carefully to Sean slowly skinning Winston, over the latest Owen Glenn email revelations, with good justification.

Then the so calledpolitical editor Brent Edwards gets on and says that there is no sense that Winston acted inappropriately. Bollocks.

We can seethe inappropriateness of Winstons action - all the other journalists see it and we suspect that the voters will get it as well.
Winston used the phrase " join the dots" we we did and it shows that Winston is corrupt.

Radio New Zealand is losing every shred of credibility with this twerp as political editor.

Edwards needs to go an work for the Spark.

PM JOINS WINSTON AS A POLITICAL CREEP

Colin Espiner has put fresh legs on the Owen Glenn story this morning .
with this

Clark said last night there was no issue because no appointment had been made.

She revealed she had blocked the proposal because of the possibility that money was involved.

"For my part, once I had heard there had been a donation I didn't think it would be appropriate," she said.

A spokesman confirmed Clark had formally axed the proposal once Glenn told her when they met in February that he had donated money to Peters.

This is bloody outrageous - this information should have been put before the Privileges committee. It shows yet again that in the race for power Clark has lost every shred of integrity she ever had.

She is willing to have a corrupt, lying, creep in her Government just so she can continue to lead the country.

This story is not just about Winstons corruption, its now about Clarks murky, dishonest, self serving politics.

KEY STAYS STAUNCH - NO WINSTON

There was a TV3 poll tonight with 67% of those polled saying they agreed to Keys stand to say no to Winston being part of his government.

And he has reiterated his position yet again in the NBR today.

Thats what we need, a politician with a backbone integrity and principles. Not one who has no integrity and makes decisions based on a thirst for power aka Helen Clark.

And Key's decision looks even better in light of the Email revelations re Owen Glenn on TVNZ tonight. Its good to see that all media are hot on this issue with the story appearing all over the place. It shows the one thing we have all ( in blogland) been saying for a long time - Winston is corrupt and he is a liar.

BB just watched the tail end of an interview with Winston Peters and Oliver Driver on ALT TV.

He reckons there is an issue that will dent Key's integrity that is still to see the light of day.

It is going to be a dirty campaign

CREEP PETERS GETS CAUGHT OUT LYING AGAIN!

For once TVNZ gets it right... Some emails have surfaced that show Peters was advocating for Glenn to be consul to Monacco last year - well before he claimed to have known anything about Glenn desire to be consul.

Winston is a creepy, lying cheating, hypocritical, corrupt bastard.

LOYALTY A SCARCE COMMODITY IN NZ FIRST

Dough Wollerton has obviously had enough of Winstons lies and deception -he told an audience last night that the Privileges Committe hearing was " embarrassing" we couldn't agree more. We thought that Doug may have had some integrity - a flicker of it was evident last night. Read here for what he said in NBR

Racing industry reputation in tatters

Roarprawn blogged on this a couple of days ago .... read it again here

Trainer shrugs off tyre-slashing

4:00AM Thursday Sep 25, 2008
By Patrick Gower

Champion horse trainer Paul Moroney has had a tyre slashed, but he does not believe it was by someone angry that he potted popular Racing Minister Winston Peters.

Mr Moroney said he found one tyre punctured with a sharp instrument when he arrived early at the Matamata racetrack.

The trainer had feared a backlash from the racing community after he provided a sworn affidavit to Parliament's privileges committee to back up Owen Glenn's claim that Mr Peters thanked the Monaco-based billionaire at the Karaka yearling sales for a $100,000 donation.

But Mr Moroney believed the tyre was damaged in relation to a minor work-related dispute within the Matamata racing community.

"I don't think anyone could be angry enough to come down to the track at 4am and slash my tyre," the Matamata trainer said.

He said he had actually had a lot of support for the stand he took.

He had not had any backlash and, he said, he had not lost any customers.

"I've actually gained a couple of horses from this."

Well what would you say if you were Moroney - I am not so charitable and if you think there isn't any venom in the Racing industry over this all you need to do is log on to RaceCafe to see the vitriol first hand...

and can anyone in the racing industry tell BustedBlonde more about the industry view on giving growth enhancing drugs to yearlings?????

Winny wants to rant again - will anyone listen?

The Hive was right...

This and more from the Herald

Winston Peters wants Parliament's privileges committee to hold an open meeting tomorrow and he intends making another personal appearance if it does.
The New Zealand First leader is understood to be upset because he believes the Serious Fraud Office has submitted written evidence to the committee, which is investigating a $100,000 donation from billionaire Owen Glenn.

the word is the SFO is looking to widen its inquiry - that will liven things up...

the nub of this mornings issue

A nice summary from the The Herald on whats the core of the issue in front of the privileges committee

Last week's documented evidence from Owen Glenn:
* Glenn telephones Winston Peters at 1.26pm (NZ time) December 14, 2005, Glenn says to discuss donation.* Phone call ends at 1.32pm.* Eight minutes later Glenn receives email from Brian Henry: "Further to your discussion with my client at 1.30 NZ time I provide my banks details as ASB acct...'
Brian Henry's verbal evidence on August 18:
* Gerry Brownlee: "Who suggested to you that you approach Owen Glenn?"
* Brian Henry: "I am unable to divulge that because it's privileged and it's not Winston Peters' privilege to waive. I can tell you it was not the president of the Labour Party or Winston Peters

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing’

Bustedblonde is curious who else was at that table in Karaka ..

Audrey Young from the Herald has a good interview with Paul Moroney the trainer who heard Winstons exchange with Owen Glenn...

It would be interesting to find out when his sister and MP Sue
Moroney shared what she knew with the PM.

Mr Moroney said when the story broke and he saw Mr Peters' continued denials he realised he had crucial knowledge. "I said to people: 'I am staggered by what's happening here'."
He then made a "personal decision" to tell Mr Glenn what he knew knowing he was coming to New Zealand to appear before Parliament's privileges committee - but never spoke to him directly, dealing only briefly with an assistant.
Mr Moroney swore an affidavit of his recollections of Mr Peters thanking Mr Glenn as they sat together at the Karaka yearly sales in 2006.
Mr Glenn provided it to the committee as corroborating evidence on Tuesday.
Mr Moroney said he expected a backlash from the racing community as Mr Peters was a popular minister.
"This is not about the racing industry. This is about the truth. And I cannot walk away from the truth."

Two standards of political integrity -

ABC in Australia reports:

Clark finds no reason to sack 'belligerent' Peters

By New Zealand correspondent Kerrie Ritchie
Posted 50 minutes ago
New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark has indicated she does not intend to sack her Foreign Minister, Winston Peters, despite the continuing investigation into undeclared political donations made to his New Zealand First Party.
Ms Clark has released a statement saying there is no basis for her to remove Mr Peters from his ministerial job.
Mr Peters has given evidence at a Privileges Committee hearing that he had no knowledge of a $100,000 donation from a billionaire businessman named Owen Glenn. The donation was never declared.
The Prime Minister says she has been advised by senior Labour colleagues that key issues remain unresolved and there is conflicting evidence from Mr Peters and Mr Glenn.
But she did take a swipe at Mr Peters, saying it is difficult to insist on due process for the outspoken minister because his behaviour is often belligerent.

and that comes hot on the heels of a story in the Herald about an aussie minister getting sacked for getting tanked stripping to his budgie catchers and then lying about it.

They must think our politicians have no integrity at all.

Hooton on the button

I cant say it better that this

The Matthew Hooton Blog

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008
Labour will regret the rude, arrogant and prosecutorial behaviour of Helen Clark’s henchmen Michael Cullen and Russell Fairbrother against Owen Glenn at the Privileges Committee today.
Their behaviour was so shocking that, several times, Mr Glenn was forced to ask the chairman, Simon Power, whether he was on trial.
Cullen and Fairbrother all but publicly confirmed Labour’s smear campaign against Glenn – which Clark refused to disavow in Parliament earlier in the afternoon.
The smear campaign has included private allegations, explicit and/or implicit, that Glenn is a drunk and a philanderer, that he is confused and suffering from a “faulty memory” as a result of being “well into his 70s” – in fact he is 68 – that he is something of a Walter Mitty and even that he has had electroconvulsive shock therapy.
Today, Cullen and Fairbrother were haughty and rude, and treated Mr Glenn like an alleged criminal or mental patient. In particular, they alleged that he mistook Winston Peters for his brother, Wayne. Apparently when Mr Glenn called Winston Peters’ personal cellphone – not even Cullen and Fairbrother denied it was Winston Peters’ phone – it may have been Wayne Peters who answered and impersonated Winston Peters.
The likelihood of this is extremely low, especially as, four minutes later, Winston Peters’ laywer emailed Mr Glenn referring to his conversation with “my client”. Mr Glenn will be furious his honesty and/or competence and/or sanity was challenged by Cullen and Fairbrother under parliamentary privilege, and Mr Glenn really didn’t want to know what to say in response, except that he had “absolutely no doubt” he had spoken to Winston Peters.
But even if the Deputy Prime Minister, Cullen, is right that his Government’s suspended Foreign Minister, Winston Peters, sometime gives his brother, Wayne, his personal cellphone and that Wayne sometimes impersonates Winston, what on earth does that say about this Government?
Does Wayne sometimes flog Winston’s phone and impersonate him when Condi Rice calls? Or the Foreign Ministers of Australia, the UK or China? Should the Prime Minister be concerned that a dodgy Northland lawyer sometimes borrows her Foreign Minister’s private phone and pretends to be him?
If not, it suggest Cullen and Fairbrother were just parroting more Labour lies.
As a result, Glenn will be even more angry at Clark and her henchmen when he fronts up to the media in Auckland tomorrow, apparently to tell even more.

I expect that Glenn has saved the best for last.... The privileges committee had only a narrow terms of reference so no doubt Glenn will like more freedom to say more.

Will it be our own PM who is in the gun today?

Truth has been missing in action whenever Labour talks about this issue. Glenn will put the Truth centre stage today.

at the end of proceedings Owen Glen said he didnt want to be known as the "man who shot Liberty Valance. " that would be lost on many young journos - it was a reference to an old western.

good western - great song ....

He was right he didnt shoot him = he blew him away with a couple of sticks of semtex.

anyway heres the lyrics of the old song..

When Liberty Valance rode to town the womenfolk would hide, they'd hide
When Liberty Valance walked around the men would step aside'cause the point of a gun was the only law that Liberty understood
When it came to shootin' straight and fast---he was mighty good.>
From out of the East a stranger came, a law book in his hand, a man
The kind of a man the West would need to tame a troubled land'cause the point of a gun was the only law that Liberty understood
When it came to shootin' straight and fast---he was mighty good.
Many a man would face his gun and many a man would fallThe man who shot Liberty Valance, he shot Liberty Valance
He was the bravest of them all.
The love of a girl can make a man stay on when he should go, stay on
Just tryin' to build a peaceful life where love is free to grow
But the point of a gun was the only law that Liberty understoodWhen the final showdown came at last, a law book was no good.
Alone and afraid she prayed that he'd return that fateful night, aww that night
When nothin' she said could keep her man from goin' out to fight
From the moment a girl gets to be full-grown the very first thing she learns
When two men go out to face each other only one retur-r-r-ns
Everyone heard two shots ring out, a shot made Liberty fall
The man who shot Liberty Valance, he shot Liberty ValanceHe was the bravest of them all.
The man who shot Liberty Valance, he shot Liberty ValanceHe was the bravest of them all.

The Furies Unleashed

The Herald finds out that the NZ First bean counter had some concerns a fedw months back

The Dom Post finds out that bullying is alive and well in NZ First and two staffers left. Busted Blonde wonders what they know? Reporter Tim Donoghue is a reporter who knows a good yarn when he sees one...

Maybe the stench of very dead scampi was too much to bear.

And Glenn has arrived according to the Dom

So its going to be a very entertaining week .. busted blonde knows of people who are flying into Wellington just to see the show!
