SPIT OR SWALLOW?

The leftie loons think that the Darren Hughes Affair is a Right Wing  Honey Trap Plot..

This on someones Facebook page.....

Is the Darren Hughes affair a covert American style (National Party) sting?

    • roflomao!!!!!!!!!!!! you silly bint
      2 hours ago ·

    • Geoff Lealand It would be reassuring to think so but it is probably just a foolish moment.

    • Sumner Burstyn of course a foolish moment but is anyone investigating the complainant? I'd like to know. Was he set up, exploit a weak moment - it smells very much a Republican style set-up.

Sad really that people could even think that..  So National ,who have a recession, an earthquake, an unstable global economy, the Middle East rocking and rolling and the West Coast still reeling from an awful mining accident - apparently  have the time to indulge in setting up a yet to be proven politician in the opposition party??
The Honey Trap using Swallows  were the stuff of legend  in the days when spies really were spies and a poke from an umbrella meant you were dead.

Hughes and Goff are in a sticky mess but its been of their own making. And as for Goffs future? Gone by next week. But Parker as the next leader ???  Wow  Joe Ninety  is even more colourless and souless than Goff.

If there really is a right wing plot its been perpetrated on Labour by the Tartan Mafia of Dunedin. Parker is their man and they are not socialists.

BLAZE OF GLORY

It appears that John Key thinks that Mana is likely to fall to Labour. National must have commissioned some polling and its indicated that there is a sizeable gap - making National the underdog. While it looks like even Labours Mr " Oi Oi" Faafoi will romp to victory, Key is going to ensure that National gives Hekia Parata all the support it can muster. Having the PM take a particular interest in the campaign is testament to the candidate that Parata is.

We like it that even in the face of near certain defeat National goes into the battle all guns blazing.

YEE HA!

THE LEGEND OF THE SCHOOL NOTEBOOK

We have had a few conversations with people over the Alan Hubbard Affair in the last few weeks. Some closely connected to this sad business , some financial wizards and some southerners.

One story, which at the time seemed unbelievable, was that when the statutory managers went in to get the records of Hubbards business they found that central to the accounting of Hubbard Inc was a school notebook with handwritten notes.

We know bugger all about running huge financing operations but there is more than a whiff of the Walter Mittys around Alan Hubbard Inc.

We have dealt with the odd fraudster in our day and often its not about pecuniary advantage but it is about getting respect from people for doing good. Recognition and status are often the drivers.

So we wonder if the strange and complex case of Hubbard Inc will prove to be just that.

No doubt time will tell.

PAY AND CONFIRM

Oh dear.

Poor Shane Jones has admitted he booked up blue movies while he was a Minister on government business. Now, its not all that hard to imagine that away from his wife and probably with only the company of such socialist sex bombs as Judith Tizard and Ruth Dyson, that he should resort to a bit of cinematic slap and tickle. The frequency of the hires means he must have been sporting some big blisters on those big Dali mitts of his! Shame is that Shane booked it up to the taxpayer. Funny thing is that in certain quarters the revelation that he watches porn will help his popularity.

However, the fact that we paid for his titillation will be his downfall.

WHITE MEN DON'T ROAST.

We think that John Keys attempt at  humour  by suggesting that he was likely to end up as part of menu if he was  dining with Tuhoe was funny. It came on the back of his unilateral decision to publicly state that Tuhoe would not get ownership of the Urewera National Park.

It's the sort of  self effacing humour that is so common among Maori - its  a part of  their verbal diet.

However we can also understand why Tuhoe didn't see the funny side of it. Its because Key chomped on their mana over the ownership of the Ureweras. So  Key's statement give them a springboard to   express outrage and hurt at the allusion they were cannibals.

We think Key  had no choice re the Park ownership. however he could have done it with a little bit more sensitivity.

We think  Co- management would have been a fine option  but the reality is that  if Tuhoe did not sign the Treaty, its hard to see how they can claim a treaty breach.

That being said they have been seriously dicked by the Government over the years.

And as one Maori strategist suggested  to Roarprawn today -  the   " Tuhoe will not get their mitts on Urewera " declaration by Key had really come about because Tuhoe got all skitey about the ownership of the Park being  a go-er.

They over egged the issue and it became a source of real concern to middle New Zealand before both sides had a chance to sell the idea to the public.

So in reality the only thing that Tuhoe should be eating is humble pie for being loud mouth big swinging dicks.

If they had shut up,  they could have ended up with ownership  of the Park,  with the proviso that there would be full and unfettered rights of access to  the NZ   public  and  continued management by DOC and the tribe.

Sadly now because of their big gobs  - its not a runner.

BEST PARTY OF THEY YEAR - SOUTHERN STYLE

We have good mates who are organising the party of the year. It used to be a regular event on the Wellington social scene and was only  open to a very select clique of Wellingtonians - ex pat Southlanders. It has always been hosted at Parliament by the Southland MP's.
It showcases good Southland food - seafood , lamb , and is a great way to get together with people who have their roots in the southern most province. It will be held sometime in September and there will be more details soon on the facebook page  set up for the event  here
Sadly the original database has been misplaced but if you you like to be on the list then  email  bustedblonde@gmail.com

To qualify you must be a Southland descendant or have  a very strong connection to the south.

FOUR STEPS FORWARD THREE STEPS BACK

A few weeks ago we launched Fab and Fifty -it was our very public way of providing us with some motivation to lose weight and get fit. Well we have some bad news and some good news. After a month we have lost half a kilo. Which lets face it is within the statistical margin of error.

A big poop and we would lose half a kilo.

But our clothes fit a bit better and we certainly can do two flights of stairs without raising a puff. So its not all bad.

And it was an extraordinary month on the social front. First there was the leaving of the BOIL. It took three weeks and at least five seperate events to see her off in fine style. Second there was the visit of our good mate the Tassy devil. Again a few wines here and there and a couple of scoffs. And then came the Hong Kong Harridan , Cactus - its was bubbles bubbles and Dockside, Arbitrageur, Shed Five, her amazing apartment at 1801 at the Bolton Hotel.

So thats the litany of excuses ... However this week its back to the grindstone- time to step up the steps, stop the snacking and say no to the wine demon entreaties.

Funny thing is we feel good. And thats what its all about.

And we see by Tau's Facebook that he is struggling to give up the fags. Good on him for manning up and telling everyone that he is a backslider. He will conquer it I am sure.

embarrassing really, Ill leave it for a week or so and keep on giving it a go. Thanks for the support
about an hour ago

However if we have any advice on that front its to try Champix. We have three mates and a sister who are on it and so far they have all stayed off the fags. We are with you all the way Tau. Stick at it..

And as Cactus points out - even Barack Obama is having some trouble giving up the cancer sticks and with all the support people at his disposal that is just plain broken arse... But then we think that Obama is a broken arse anyway.

This is the last getting fit blog on Roarprawn for a while - they will go back to being on Fab and Fifty

And for me and Tau and for all the other people who are waging war their own demons we like these quotes .

"When we can begin to take our failures non-seriously, it means we are ceasing to be afraid of them. It is of immense importance to laugh at ourselves." -- Katherine Mansfield

"Failure is only the opportunity to begin again more intelligently." -- Henry Ford

RANDOM BITS

Cactus likes the Rock.

Arbitrageur is where grown ups gather.

Why is the whole town buzzing over speculation on Chris Carters spending as a Minister? Is that why Labour went soft on Heatley and Brownlie ?

And isn't Beaujolais Duck parfait the best pate in town?

And Ian Templetons wife is a beautiful lady even if he isnt a Sir.....

RARE LAMB

Kiwiblog's, fine author Farrar came a calling over Xmas and supped and ate for the day with friends and family. He has exposed some interesting myths on BustedBlonde here

And he appeared to enjoy the action at the Rangitumau Lilliputian aerodrome.

However is is much more of a crackberry head than BB as this picture shows!

However, he got one thing wrong.. The lamb he ate had been killed a couple of days prior. The one that was slaughtered while he was with us, ( and he didn't look) was destined for the son and heir.

Son learned from his grandfather how to kill and dress the carcass which was hung high in the tree overnight to harden up.

Farrar was good company and we did a bit of plotting and planning for 2010. So watch this space.

FIRST PM TO BE A MEMBER OF THE GOOD BASTARD CLUB?

We think so.

We were dubious that Key had a programme that made use of his talents and positioned NZ well on the world stage. We must have been having a bit of a black hat day as it is clear that John Key is doing very very well.

We think that its because he is a Good Bastard. Obama went looking for him.
He is prepared to look like a dick on USA TV because it gives our tourism invaluable exposure. He foots it on the world stage. He looks like he is enjoying it and and he does it in his inimitable good bastard style.

He should become the patron of the Good Bastards club.

Send him some brews Paddy.
